Finally! I managed to get into a workshop on photography.
I'm doing it for free at my university, and the professor is a studio photographer, so he knows a lot and brings lots of art books to classes. 1/3 of the class is lectures and then we have practice with our own cameras and borrowed ones, on an improvised studio, with artificial light through umbrellas and all that movie-like stuff.
I now understand better how my point-and-shoot really sucks, although it has good manual control. The difference in light, sharpness and depth quality to any SLR I experimented there is just to great.
